B-Side’s Final Friday, Slap Yourself Stupid ~ This Weekend

Greatest Haboob Photograph of 2011

This past summer I refrained from making any posts with Haboob photos for a few reasons. First, because I was tired of seeing them, but also because the internet was so saturated with Haboob photographs that I wanted to wait until the frenzy died down and then find the best one. Well, here it is. This is what the Phoenix of the future in year 2050 will look like, when conservatives finally realize climate change is in fact real and their Maseratis are caked with dust again.

After some future planning of the project, the latest from 1912 is finally available! The “Connect” Edition T-shirts are hand screen-printed using black ink on high quality white colored shirts and proudly displays not only the shape of Arizona using a connect-the-dot pattern, but the city of “Phoenix” as well. 48 dots for the 48th state! This release is limited to only 20 and is available in unisex sizes, XS, S, M, L, and XL. As always, custom shirt orders can be placed for future design releases.

The 1912 Project ~ The “Split” Edition

People who choose to promote 1912 are aiding in the continual creative formation of Arizona’s perception, integrity and character. By supporting the project, you’re supporting growth. Just wear the t-shirt with pride and spread the word about what makes Arizona special. Promote the small things that others may not see and generate a sense of excitement about being part of what makes up Arizona. By choosing to wear and identify with 1912, you choose to identify with and support Arizona’s creativity, history, symbolism, and identity.

William LeGoullon of The 1912 Project has released The “Split” Edition, his second limited-edition batch of Arizona-inspired shirts. Check the website to view the first edition and read a bio on the author and project.

Sky Harbor Airport, Willow Springs Lake Time Lapse

This video was shot between 6:30PM-7:30PM. Each frame is a 5 second exposure, so the 24 seconds of video equates to one hour of real time. The winds were out of the east on this night, so PHX was initially landing planes out of the west. This is why you see the sunset in the background. After 7:30PM, the winds died down and PHX resumed their normal flight path of landing planes from the east. I stopped the time lapse after this 7:30PM transition.

Summer Milky Way looking south from Willow Springs Lake in Arizona on top of the Mogollon Rim in Sitgreaves National Forest throughout the night.. Video begins after sunset on June 15th, 2010 and ends just before sunrise on June 16th, 2010.
