Etiquette and Friendliness ~ Green Restaurant

1. Assume people like you
2. Take a friendly lead
3. Assume you like everyone
4. Overlook annoying qualities or major bad points

Here are some lessons in etiquette and friendliness from Green in Tempe that I think everyone can learn from. Seriously, it’s some great advice. If you want to read the full text seen in the photos, check it out after the jump.

Maybe 2011 Will Be Better ~ The Compound

Incase you don’t have plans on new years, or incase you do anyway but want to trade for something cooler, Maybe 2011 Will Be Better is the answer to your dilemma. Check out the flyer above. Could there possibly be any more great Phoenix artists crammed into one spot for a night of drunken celebration? This is a rare, extraordinary event that should not be missed. Come out to the SE corner of Farmer Ave & University for a proper introduction to 2011.

Spotted License Plate ~ Tempe

Gotta love Arizona . . .

Old Paints from Hmph

It wouldn’t be fair not to open up the archives of PHX street art and post a few wall paintings by Hmph .  . . so I did just that. Consider this only a prelude for more to come on PhoenixTaco by him.

Flash Mob Hallelujah ~ Scottsdale Fashion Square

Happy Holidays from your friendly neighborhood culture blog!

Soldierleisure Mural Tagged ~ Roosevelt Row

This fantastic mural, done by Andy Brown and Michael Little, is located downtown between Roosevelt & Garfield on Roosevelt Row. Unfortunately, the mural was recently painted over by Cmer.

Peña for Team Coco

Jason Rudolph Peña, a Phoenix-based artist, had this rendition of Conan O’brien featured in a commercial on TBS . View the video for a time-lapse showcase of the painting being made, which is set, appropriately enough, to “Burning Down the House” by The Talking Heads.

Sticker Montage ~ Part Deux

EFKT, JK, Buzooka Bill, HowYouSay, HMPH, UWP

~~ check out the new slaps from Jackalope Ranch, designed by EFKT. Also posted is their first design by HMPH for your viewing pleasure.

And while I’m at it, here’s the stickers for Wet Paint, which you can pick up at the store.

Tempe Starving Artist Issue #16

Los Favoritos Taco Shop ~ Tempe

Los Faves, as it’s often called, is a great taco shop located right next to The Clubhouse. If you’ve ever been to the music venue, you know it’s not uncommon for bands to start off their set with, “Damn, I just had this fucking awesome burrito at some place right around the corner . . .” Featured above are the chicken taquitos and vegetarian burrito (beans, rice, guac, lettuce) with chips and a cup of spicy salsa verde. View the chicken tacos after the jump. Also, they are vegan-friendly.
